Bondy analysed the setup and developed a custom tool based on the customer’s drawing. The new design reduced replacement time by 90% and doubled suction cup service life, helping the customer reduce downtime and spare parts consumption.
Challenge
The suction cups were difficult to access and had a short service life. Each replacement required the machine to be stopped, followed by manual disassembly and cleaning.
Solution
Bondy designed a custom POM block that allowed suction cups to be replaced without tools. It fitted the machine’s existing geometry and was manufactured using materials selected to meet the specified FDA and EC requirements.
Result
Replacement time fell from 10 minutes to 1 minute, while suction cup service life doubled. This reduced downtime, maintenance costs and spare parts consumption, helping the customer maintain a more stable production flow.
