From Development to More Than 800,000 Motors Supplied
An agricultural machinery manufacturer needed motor solutions for machines operating under demanding conditions.
Bondy supported the first project from early development through prototyping, pilot production and field testing to series production. The collaboration expanded to include five further development projects and has resulted in more than 800,000 motors and units supplied for machinery used worldwide.
Challenge
The motor solutions needed to perform under demanding operating conditions and be suitable for high-volume production. This required a development process in which design work, prototypes and field testing provided the basis for the final production solution.
Solution
Bondy provided technical advice, development, drawings, moulds and documentation. Each project progressed from prototype to pilot production, with technical testing, field trials and data collection supporting the approval process. The solutions were then transferred to series production and supplied in larger volumes.
Result
The first project has resulted in more than 500,000 units supplied. Five further development projects have added more than 300,000 units.
The customer gained a partner able to manage both development and the transition to production at scale. The collaboration has also continued with another development project for a new machine.
